Makeup Appointment Policy at The Chi Diaries Makeup

General Guidelines

Arrival Time: Please arrive on time for your scheduled appointment. Late arrivals may result in a shortened service time and $15 late fee being applied to accommodate subsequent appointments, but the full service fee will still apply. After 20 minutes, the appointment will be canceled with NO exceptions. Please reach out to me if you anticipate being late.

Cancellation Policy: To cancel or reschedule, please do so at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment. If any issues arise, notify me as soon as possible. No-shows will NOT receive a refund and will NOT be able to book with me in the future. If I am unable to provide your service due to unforeseen circumstances, you will receive a full refund.

Clean Face: Clients should arrive with a clean, makeup-free face. If skincare products are to be applied before the makeup, this will be done by the makeup artist.

Comfort and Privacy: My base location is designed to be a comfortable and private environment. Please feel free to communicate any specific needs or preferences to ensure you have a pleasant experience.

Guests: For appointments at my base location, I kindly ask that you do not bring additional guests unless previously arranged. This helps maintain a calm and focused environment for your service.

Personal Items: Please keep personal items to a minimum. A designated area will be provided for you to store any belongings during your appointment.

Health and Safety

Allergies and Sensitivities: Please inform me of any skin allergies or sensitivities ahead of time. I will do my best to accommodate, but cannot be held responsible for any adverse reactions.

Hygiene Practices: At The CHI Diaries Makeup, I adhere to the highest hygiene standards. All tools and products are sanitized before and after each use to ensure your safety and comfort.

COVID-19 and Illness Protocol: If you are feeling unwell or have been exposed to COVID-19, please inform me immediately to reschedule your appointment. I follow strict hygiene protocols to ensure a safe environment for all clients.

Payment and Gratuity

Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 20% of the total service cost is required at the time of booking to secure your appointment. Remaining balance will be due at the time of the appointment.

Final Payment: Payment is due upon completion of services. Accepted forms of payment include Venmo, Zelle, Apple Pay, and cash only.

Gratuity: While not required, gratuity is greatly appreciated if you are satisfied with the service provided.

The CHI Diaries Makeup: Travel Makeup Appointment Policy

Thank you for choosing The CHI Diaries Makeup for your beauty needs! To ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience, please review the following policy regarding travel makeup appointments:

Booking and Travel Arrangements

Advance Booking: It is highly recommended to book your appointment at least 5 days in advance to ensure availability, especially for events during peak seasons or weekends.

Travel Fees: A travel fee will be applied for appointments outside of my base location. This fee will vary depending on the distance and travel time. This fee will be discussed and agreed upon during the booking process.

Minimum Booking Requirement: For locations over 30 miles away, a minimum booking of 50% of the deposit is required.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the appointment. Cancellations for appointments >30 miles must be made at least 48 hours before the appointment.

Late cancellations or no-shows will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the total service cost.

Out-of-State Travel Appointments:
For appointments outside of Illinois, please note the following additional policies:

  1. Travel and Accommodation Fees: Out-of-state bookings will require coverage of travel expenses, including transportation (e.g., flights, car rental) and accommodation if an overnight stay is necessary. These costs will be discussed and agreed upon during the booking process.

  2. Minimum Booking Requirement: A minimum service fee of $1150 (day rate) is required for out-of-state appointments. This ensures that travel is viable and time is appropriately compensated.

  3. Advance Booking: Out-of-state appointments must be booked at least 4 weeks in advance to allow adequate time for travel arrangements.

  4. Deposit Requirement: A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total service cost, including travel and accommodation, is required at the time of booking to secure the appointment. Remaining balance will be due at the beginning of the appointment.

On-Site Setup and Environment

Workspace Requirements: Please provide a clean, well-lit area with a table or counter space to set up the makeup kit. Natural lighting is ideal, but if unavailable, please ensure that the space is adequately lit.

Seating Arrangement: A comfortable chair at a suitable height is required for the client during the makeup application. Please ensure the chair allows the client to sit upright and maintain a neutral head position.

Power Source: If the makeup application involves using any electrical tools (e.g., fan, studio lights), please ensure there is a power outlet nearby.

Distractions: To ensure the best results, it’s recommended that the workspace be free from distractions. Kindly arrange for a quiet environment during the makeup session, especially for detailed work like bridal or special event makeup.

Guests: If multiple people are receiving makeup services, please ensure that only one person is in the workspace at a time. Additional guests should wait in a separate area until it is their turn.

Final Payment: Payment is due upon completion of services. Accepted forms of payment include Venmo, Zelle, Apple Pay, and cash only.

Day Rate Policy

Full-Day Rate Policy

  1. Daily Rate Coverage: The full-day rate ($1150) covers up to 8 hours of service within a single day. This includes makeup application for multiple clients, touch-ups, and any other services agreed upon in advance.

  2. Extended Hours: If services extend beyond the daily rate hours, an additional hourly rate of $50 will apply. This must be agreed upon before the service day.

  3. Breaks and Meals: For bookings exceeding 5 hours, the makeup artist is entitled to at least one 30-minute break. Meals should be provided or time allowed to obtain food.

  4. Booking and Payment: A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the daily rate is required at the time of booking to secure the date. The remaining balance is due on the day of service.

  5. Travel and Accommodation: If the location of the service is outside of my base location, travel fees and accommodation (if necessary) will be added to the daily rate and must be covered by the client.

Half-Day Rate Policy

  1. Half-Day Rate Coverage: The half-day rate ($600) covers up to 5 hours of service within a single day. This is ideal for smaller events or fewer clients.

  2. Extended Hours: Should the service time exceed the half-day limit, the client will be billed at an additional hourly rate of $50, unless previously arranged as a full-day rate.

  3. Booking and Payment: A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the half-day rate is required to confirm the booking. The remaining balance is due on the day of service.

  4. Additional Services: Any additional services requested on the day that are not covered by the half-day rate will incur extra charges. These must be agreed upon and paid for before the additional services are provided.

  5. Travel and Accommodation: If the location of the service is outside of my base location, travel fees and accommodation (if necessary) will be added to the daily rate and must be covered by the client.

Bridal Makeup for the Bride service, tailored to enhance your natural beauty and complement your unique style. From timeless elegance to modern glam, I create a flawless, long-lasting look that photographs beautifully and feels comfortable all day. Trust that I make you look and feel radiant as you walk down the aisle! Additionally, The bride-to-be will also be given a complimentary gift bag that includes lip gloss, lipstick, powder, and blotting strips.

Bridal Party Package

$600 – 60min/person

Celebrate your special day with the Bridal Party Package, perfect for your closest loved ones. This package includes makeup services for a minimum of 5 people and can feature your bridesmaids, maid of honor, mother of the bride, or other key members of your party. Additional individuals can be accommodated for an extra charge, with a maximum of 7 people. If your party exceeds this limit, please message or email me to discuss your unique needs. A consultation is recommended but not required.

One-on-One Class

$350 – 3hrs

Interested in learning how to beat your face but not sure where to start? This service provides a special 1on1 makeup class that will teach you how to master the art of makeup. You will get access to my full makeup kit and have the opportunity to learn new makeup skills from me. As a part of this package, you fill be gifted a mini makeup gift bag that includes an eyeshadow palette, brush set, lipstick/lip gloss, and a pair of lashes.
